Dr. Lewis J. Obi is the founder and Medical Director of Pangenics Regenerative Center and a recognized pioneer in stem cell enhanced plastic surgery. A Jacksonville native, Dr. Obi has devoted his career to advancing regenerative techniques that integrate a patient’s own mesenchymal stem cells into aesthetic and reconstructive procedures for the face, breasts, and body, emphasizing natural healing, reduced recovery time, and durable tissue regeneration.

Dr. Obi graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He earned a Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida and a Medical Doctor degree from the University of Miami Medical School, graduating with honors (AOA). He completed his internship in the U.S. Navy and underwent extensive residency and fellowship training in general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, plastic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, and hand surgery.

In 1971, Dr. Obi founded Obi Plastic Surgery in Jacksonville, beginning a 53-year full-time practice. During this period, he pioneered numerous surgical innovations and established Florida’s first licensed ambulatory surgery center dedicated exclusively to plastic surgery. His career is marked by an unblemished safety and compliance record, with no surgical deaths, medical violations, or court cases.

Over the past two decades, Dr. Obi emerged as a global leader in stem cell enhanced plastic surgery, introducing autologous live mesenchymal stem cell therapies combined with advanced laser techniques. His work extends beyond aesthetics to include regenerative therapies for painful joint conditions, offering physicians evidence-informed approaches that can reduce recovery time and improve functional outcomes.

Dr. Obi is available to train physicians in the clinical preparation and use of mesenchymal stem cells for joint pain therapies and for enhancing select plastic surgery procedures. He also offers educational and training guest speaking engagements for medical symposiums, conventions, and professional seminars, sharing practical protocols, safety considerations, and clinical insights gained from decades of innovation.

His international recognition includes authoring a full chapter in the landmark textbook; Stem Cells in Aesthetic Procedures: Art, Science and Clinical Techniques. Dr. Obi has lectured and published extensively and continues to contribute globally through education, collaboration, and physician training in regenerative medicine.
