Dr. Lewis J. Obi is the founder and Medical Director of Pangenics Regenerative Center and a recognized pioneer in stem cell enhanced plastic surgery. A native of Jacksonville, Dr. Obi has dedicated his career to advancing regenerative techniques that integrate the patient’s own stem cells into aesthetic and reconstructive procedures for the face, breasts, and body. His work has helped redefine modern plastic surgery by focusing on natural healing, reduced recovery time, and long-term tissue regeneration.
Dr. Obi graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He later earned both a degree in Pharmacy from the University of Florida and a Medical Doctor degree from the University of Miami Medical School, graduating with honors as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA). He completed his internship in the U.S. Navy and went on to extensive residency and fellowship training in general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, plastic surgery, maxillofacial surgery, and hand surgery.
In 1971, Dr. Obi launched Obi Plastic Surgery in Jacksonville, marking the beginning of a 53-year full-time practice. During this time, he pioneered numerous innovative procedures and established Florida’s first licensed ambulatory surgery center dedicated exclusively to plastic surgery. His career is distinguished by an unblemished record, with no surgical deaths, medical violations, or court cases.
Over the last two decades of his practice, Dr. Obi became a leader in stem cell enhanced plastic surgery, introducing patients to autologous live stem cell therapies combined with advanced laser techniques. He developed non-invasive breast procedures, breast reconstruction methods, facelifts, and fat transfer treatments enhanced with mesenchymal stem cells, significantly reducing downtime and cost for patients.
Dr. Obi’s contributions earned international recognition. He authored an entire chapter in the first text book published on the use of stem cells in aesthetic plastic surgery; Stem Cells in Aesthetic Procedures. The book was first published in 2014. He has lectured and has published extensively, sponsoring and presenting at stem cell symposiums worldwide.
Although he retired from full-time practice in 2024, Dr. Obi remains actively engaged in regenerative medicine, traveling internationally and editing a major book he has been developing for over eight years. Today, he continues to influence the future of stem cell enhanced plastic surgery while enjoying time with his 20 grand children and great grand children that is long overdue.

Stem Cell Facelift
The OperaLift is performed by removing “Unwanted” fat from the abdomen and converting the fat into a stem cell concentrated fat graft. There are various levels of the OperaLift procedure, some of which combine specialized fat grafting with PRP, (Platelet Rich Plasma) and additional stem cells. The non-surgical Slimlipo laser liposuction is used to tighten sagging neck skin.

Dr. Obi Also pioneered the use of stem cell enriched adipose body fat to enhance breast surgery. He performed breast augmentations with scarless areolar incisions that result in significantly less visible scaring. For patients with breast sag, the SlimLipo laser was often used to tighten the brassiere and lateral breast. A patient’s own stem cell enriched body fat was also used to further contour the breasts. This procedure produced a more natural appearance and is a viable option for women who wish to have their breast(s) reconstructed after mastectomy or serious accident.
